Students of the strategic management course presented their projects
On Wednesday, 30 March 2022, the final presentation of the best projects of the students of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics of the ČZU in Prague involved in the course of strategic management took place. It was held in Actum Digital, the company that prepares the course in cooperation with the Department of Management.
The Strategic Management course enables the connection of theory and practice through cooperation with Actum Digital. Students on the Economics and Management programme work on a case study of a real business challenge for Actum Digital and develop a web accessibility product entry strategy for a selected market throughout the semester. Lectures and seminars combine theoretical and business approaches to help students successfully complete the assignment.
The final presentation of the best projects took place at Actum Digital on Wednesday 30 March 2022. Students had the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of a presentation in front of the company's board members and receive valuable feedback directly from them. This course is a collaboration between the Management Department, represented by Jana Pitrova, and Actum Digital, represented by Jan Havel.
"I was very surprised by the quality of the students' work, it is clear that they were very interested in the topic," says Ondřej Pohl from Actum Digital, explaining, "The primary goal of their work was a market entry strategy from a business perspective.
At the same time, it was clear that they perceived not only the business aspect, but also the dimension of helping people in the country. Indeed, some of the groups delved very deeply into the topic of accessibility, much more than the scope of the assignment required. You could see that they were enjoying it," says Ondřej Pohl. He also believes that when the students work in companies and meet them on a project, they will want to tackle accessible products and services themselves. This, he says, is also why they get involved." A nice bonus for me is the students' active interest in the issues.
During the presentations, one student asked me about user testing with people with disabilities, saying that she has ADHD herself and would like to collaborate. Experiencing such a connection between all spheres of the topic of web accessibility was really amazing for me and I am very happy about it. I look forward to the next edition of the project," concludes Ondřej Pohl, Lead UX Designer & Web Accessibility Specialist from Actum Digital, in his evaluation of the student projects.
Rizzo Luigi Daniele adds on behalf of his winning team from Italy: "The strategic management course was an excellent and enriching experience, an opportunity to face concrete challenges and get an idea of what the real business world looks like. The whole course culminated with the final presentations of our work at Actum, a very inspiring moment and comparison of the creative strategies presented by the students."
